NFC test

NFC test and pre-certification available now!

ContactLAB & ProxiLAB offer NFC component pre-certification

ContactLAB "SWP protocol emulation" allows the emulation of signals from USIM cards using the Single Wire Protocol (SWP). This feature, initially announced at WIMA 2009, allows testing of both the HCI and HDLC layers of the ContactLess Front end (CLF) of NFC capable handsets.

ContactLAB and ProxiLAB control can be synchronized with precision allowing concurrent testing of both the contactless and contact interfaces of the CLF component. Both tools provide full control of all signal parameters and control via scripting (Java, C++, VB, Python).

An NFC test suite based on the ETSI test plan, and ContactLAB/ProxiLAB hardware is currently available from Soliatis.

For owners of ContactLAB, this all-in-one product structure allows the addition of SWP Emulation via a simple and rapid software upgrade.

F@CIL - 10 Mbps with VHDR

F@CIL opens doors to data-rich applications on contactless smart cardss

In response to growing market demand for secure transfer of large volumes of data in contactless card applications, the F@CIL project is shattering data-rate limits with a new standard that promises transmissions at up to 10 Mbps.

F@CIL, a joint effort of Gemalto, CEA Leti and Raisonance, addresses all implementation aspects from physical and protocol levels to tools for verification. The resulting VHDR standard, which will be demonstrated as a SESAME finalist at Cartes 2009, meets market imperatives for intuitive, confidential technology, while achieving data rates nearly 10 times faster than existing standards. VHDR has the added advantage of building on existing standards for enhanced deploy-ability. The high data rate, deploy-ability, simultaneous power transfer and low-cost technology, make VHDR equally adapted to high-volume, contactless smart cards and powered systems (mobile phones, card readers, etc.).

In tool and test development, Raisonance is advancing three types of VHDR tools: Configurable reader, Card simulator, and Signal spy/Protocol analyzer. Configurable readers/simulators provide the foundation for test and certification. They provide the full control of signal parameters and commands required for thorough characterization and test of cards and systems. For interoperability test and support of deployed systems, a signal spy offers a non-intrusive view of the interactions between real components.

F@CIL VHDR components and an application based on the Raisonance Primer2 will be highlighted in the Gemalto "The Future of Contactless" demonstrations (3 G 002), and on the CEA-Leti (4 Q 084) and Raisonance (4 P 076) stands at Cartes 2009, Paris, November 17-19 2009.
