Contactless Reader Conformity Testing and Certification

ProxiLAB3 - ISO14443, FeliCa, ISO15693

ProxiLAB3 provides fully configurable PICC (smart card) signal emulation for testing contactless card readers that use 13.56 Mhz signalling protocols. This includes, as options, the choice to emulate signals using:

  • ISO 14443 (A, B) protocols
    (digital-level control only)
  • NFC, FeliCa or ISO 15693 protocols
    (digital-level control only)
  • Any of the above protocols with full
    Analog-level control of signal parameters

Providing features as options allows ProxiLAB3 users to have a tool configured for their current test requirements. However, ProxiLAB3 is easily adapted to meet a user's future test requirements by simply buying the desired functional licenses.

For reader testing, the ProxiLAB3 uses a Raisonance contactless PICC reference probe. This probe conforms to ISO 10373 test standards. Probe characteristics such as resonance and Q value are modified via software making it possible to automate test processes.

What to Order for Reader Testing

For testing contactless readers, the user should order the ProxiLAB3 hardware (Order code: SC-ProxiLAB-HW) with the appropriate PICC signal emulation capabilities:

    • SC-ProxiLAB-PICCAB: PICC signal emulation for ISO 14443 A, B
    • SC-ProxiLAB-PICC-NFC: PICC signal emulation for NFC, FeliCa, ISO 15693
    • SC-ProxiLAB-PICC-ANA: PICC signal emulation with analog-level control of signal parameters
