Designed in collaboration with industry leaders, ContactLAB provides complete visibility of communications between the ContactLess Front end (CLF), Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) and application processor of an NFC capable, SIM-based mobile phone. ContactLAB offers capture and protocol analysis of all relevant contact protocols - Single Wire Protocol (SWP), Host Controller Interface (HCI), High level Data Link Controller (HDLC) and ISO 7816 protocol.
ContactLAB synchronizes with ProxiSPY which allows the non-intrusive capture and analysis of RF signals to and from external NFC capable devices (phones, smart cards, tags readers, ...). Signals from the two tools are reintegrated into the same Raisonance Generic Protocol Analyzer (RGPA) interface, which provides the user a complete view of all signals in the NFC chain of communication.
ContactLAB includes all accessories required to interconnect with the mobile handset, the Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC or commonly called "SIM") and the ContactLess Front end (CLF). ContactLAB captures and analyzes all signals passed between these components. SPW and ISO 7816 observation or "Spy" capabilities are sold as software options so that users can easily upgrade to add the funcitonality that they require at any time.
ProxiSPY offers non-instusive RF signal capture based on patented Raisonance probe technology that ensures the tool does not influence the success or failure of RF communication. An NFC variant of this probe technology is available, which is adapted to signal capture on non-card format objects such as mobile phones, key fobs and USB keys. ProxiSPY allows capture and analysis of all relevant RF protocols, including NFC (IP1 & IP2), ISO 14443 (A & B), FeliCa and ISO 15693. ISO 14443 analysis is native to the platform. Other protocols are available as software-based options, so that users can upgrade their tool rapidly and easily according to their needs. An NFC option is available that includes all NFC related protocols and the NFC probe set.
Both tools are controlled via RGPA software interface. Following capture and analysis, the signals from both tools are integrated in to a common display that facilitates visibility of the complete chain of NFC communications from application processor to external NFC object (Phone, smart card, tag, reader,...). The interface provides both a graphical interface and listing of all signals that occured during a capture. It offers one click access to protocol-level descriptions of captured signals, to facilitate understanding of signalling protocols and diagnosis of problems. Search features and statistics facilitate localizing of signals of interest and problem diagnosis.
